The Sunflower Programme
|
The Sunflower Programme (also known as the Sunflower Method) is a holistic health based approach intended to help children with learning difficulties such as dyslexia, dyspraxia and ADHD. It involves a number of techniques, including applied kinesiology, light physical adjustments, nutritional and flower remedies and Neuro-linguistic programming (NLP).
The Sunflower Trust was founded in 1995 in the UK by Mark Mathews, a Guildford osteopath. It is used extensively in Germany by those with a medical background, and research trials are now helping to establish its place as a recognized and effective approach to treatment.
The Sunflower Programme is a new and effective approach to helping children with learning and behaviour difficulties. But it is also of excellent help for children having problems such as mild clumsiness, poor concentration, anxiety or shyness. Each child is unique and therefore, each treatment sequence and approach is unique.

|
In a comprehensive step by step process, the child's musculo-skeletal system, neurological responses, nutrition and psychological state are assessed and treated naturally.
Research shows that this method can bring children greater health, happiness and confidence, and ability to achieve more of their own potential.
Balanced, well-integrated, healthy children naturally perform better, feel better, achieve more, have a greater sense of self-esteem and get on better with others.

The term 'learning difficulties' is used to cover a wide range of problems. Children who have difficulty with handwriting or in learning to read and spell often manifest problems such as memory recall blocks, attention deficit, speech delay, clumsiness, poor co-ordination and other health problems. Each child's difficulties are unique - a combination of auditory, visual, muscular, chemical, emotional and neurological imbalances.
Extraordinary improvements in some children's performance in various areas of their lives, including academic accomplishments, have been observed after treatment via the Sunflower Programme.
|
|
The process begins with the practitioner's full assessment of the child and report of findings. There follows treatment in stages of structural, chemical, neurological and psychological elements.
Typically there will be 8-10 treatments, over a minimum of 6 months. For details on the method see under the faq section or go to the website www.sunflowertrust.com. Also you may call Carolina to arrange a talk or demonstration.
Full and part bursaries are available. Please contact me for information.

Testimonials
Our son Daniel has benefited enormously from the Sunflower programme. For us, the holistic approach combined with proven physical therapy was a new approach and I think the whole family has learned a lot from the experience. Daniel went into his second year at a new school a lot more focussed and confident of his abilities – both mental and physical. We have also noticed a marked difference in his ability to understand and explore his emotions and behaviour. Perhaps most unexpectedly, his sensitive nature has turned outwards so that instead of dwelling on things as they relate to him he is far more empathetic to others. This has been a lovely experience for the whole family. Thank you Carolina.

Chloe loved her sessions with you. Sitting in during the sessions enabled me to see a new approach to helping her cope with her emotions of being in a new school. She is using the techniques you showed us to help her when she gets anxious or afraid. Also it seems her eczema has much reduced from your identifying the house-mite allergy, and providing advise with that. She also really enjoys the jumping exercises!
Keep in touch. Thank you so much for all your help.
